Feature Animation

An "anime" sword fighting scene with Tanjiro fighting his "evil" self. This "evil" self is a completely opposite from Tanjiro, wearing red and a smirk on his face always. How will Tanjiro handle this?
An animation project in which I learn how to animate a fast action scene with lots of camera movements. This is my attempt to learn more about layout, cinematography and camera work, and I find them to be quite successful and enjoyable to work with. However, I still have a lot to learn to make sure I can make the best shot.

"Tanjiro" character from "Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)"

My first pantomime shot where a character interacts with the surrounding environment and prop.

Also, my first time animating with props and constraints on and off. I also used different camera angles here to best showcase acting pieces and dynamic shots that I believe would help with the storytelling.

Cartoon Bedroom set by Matt Tovar

A monologue scene where I tried to animate based on a short audio clip.

After shooting myself for reference, I blocked in the necessary poses, splining them and polishing with some exaggerated movements in the arms and fingers to create a sense of comedy.

This is also my first time working with facial animation and lip sync, especially trying to do an emotion shift, which is very important for acting.

Dinner environment set by Matt Tovar

A small scene where I tried to learn about exaggerated body movements as well as working with dialogues for the first time.

Animated mainly in Maya as well as setting up environment and lighting.

Later, the footage is sent over to After Effects to refocus, enhance lighting, and adjust colors.

A motion captured dance that I was responsible for editing to make sure the body parts aren't tangled up and the movement matches with real life reference and necessary quality.

My first time dealing with motion capture and I found it to be greatly intuitive, easy to work with but also has its own caveats that would require deeper understanding and more experience working with.

Editted the motion capture footage in Maya.
